Rick Hunter, LEED AP
Managing Principal

Rick has over a decade of experience in residential real estate development, construction, and investment. Rick attended SLU Graduate School, before taking a position with the Missouri Botanical Garden, working to redevelop 4 adjacent neighborhoods, under the auspices of the Garden District Commission. The scope of this redevelopment included planning and implementation of the acquisition of 135 parcels under Chapter 99 and a Chapter 351 Redevelopment Corporation. Some homes in the redevelopment areas were restored utilizing federal and state Historic Tax Credits.

Towards the completion of this effort, Rick left the Garden to head up Legacy Group, LLC, a company focused on high-end restorations of residential buildings, investment properties, and consulting on Historic Tax Credit Projects. As the focus of Legacy begin to shift to new construction, Rick – along with his investing partners – determined there was an opportunity to fill a gap in the market for a specialized green custom builder. This was the beginning of Sage.

On a personal note – Rick lives in Creve Coeur with his wife and 3 children. He likes outdoor recreation, and playing & listening to a wide range of music. He is (heavily) involved in the local chapter of the US Green Building Council, and the Home Builders Association.

Jason Stone
Principal
Jason Stone entered the building industry after designing a model for selling real estate via the Web. He is a veteran of the Internet boom, having worked in Internet marketing for over a decade. It is his perception that green building will be to this decade what the Internet was to the last – an ultra-fast adoption of a new concept that we will soon wonder how we ever lived without. After honing his entrepreneurial skills for Internet start ups, Jason created two small business – Stone Foundations, a real estate investment company with rental property in the City, and Stone Development, an historic redevelopment company that tackled projects using Missouri Historic Tax Credits to renovate and restore dilapidated homes to their former glory. Jason is a licensed Realtor in the State of Missouri.

On a personal note – Originally from Springfield, IL, Jason now resides in Glendale, MO with his wife and son. When he is not undertaking the extensive green renovation of his 1950s ranch, he can be found with his nose buried deep in a book or his eyes glued to a computer screen. He is an active member of St. Louis’s USGBC and HBA.
